Why do we love the brands we do?

As customers, we buy with emotion and justify the purchase afterward with logic. 

For example, it's why we're happy to pay far more for an item from a particular company we adore then from a competitor that may sell an almost identical product at a quarter of the price.

Brand, in absolute essence, is a set of expectations, memories, stories, and feelings that, accumulatively, account for the consumer's decision to choose one product or service over another.

The brands we love are the brands that share the same values and beliefs as us. They empower us. They motivate us. They communicate a message that we can relate to.

They don't shout about the features and benefits of their products, or how the product was made. They don't even focus on the product themselves. They focus on why they do what they do, and once we buy into the brand's values and beliefs, then we begin to fall in love with what they have to offer.
